IN THIS ISSUE: Become an expert on the Lost Time Analysis report with three tips for success and a quick video demo to show you the ropes!
Dear Agility,
When it comes time to tracking lost time, we don’t have a great system in place. We know lost and restricted time hurts our productivity and profitability, but without knowing our lost time data, it can be hard to identify areas for improvements. Can Agility help?
The Solution
The Lost Time Analysis Report in Agility is the key to painlessly and accurately getting information on employees’ lost time due to injuries, illnesses, or exposures. With a variety of reporting options, you can either concentrate on the cold, hard data you might need for reporting lost or restricted time, or put on your analytical hat to search for trends and identify areas that need improvement within your organization. Follow these three tips to make sure you are using the report to its full ability to proactively monitor Lost Time at your organization.
Enter That Data
Before we consider running the report, let’s talk about the inevitable—data entry. Like all reports, good data in is the only way to get good data out! Make sure you take the time to accurately complete the lost time in the Lost Time and Restrictions screens for every incident. The lost time you enter will not only feed into the report itself, but will also be used to calculate totals on forms like the OSHA 300A—and with new requirements around electronic reporting, you’ll want to take advantage of tracking this in Agility.
Consider the Possibilities
Within the Lost Time report, you’ll first choose to report lost and/or restricted time one of three ways:
- Lost time within the selected time range
- Lost time for incidents that occurred in the selected time range
- Lost time for employees who are still accumulating lost days
Once you know what kind of lost time you are looking for, you can further filter your report by additional criteria. For example, filter by nature of incident to determine what types of incidents might cause employees to miss the most work. This data can help you identify focused prevention efforts to help reduce lost time across the organization. Reporting by department can help to identify those areas that might need some extra safety training or additional staffing to lighten the load. Continue to use this report after you select opportunities for improvement to track progress in reducing lost time.
Run it like Clockwork

Did You Know?
While all 50 states (and DC) now permit electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS), state mandates for utilization of this functionality continue to expand. Currently, New York, Maine, and Minnesota require the use of EPCS (only opiates in Maine), while Connecticut recently announced their requirement will go into effect as of January 1, 2018. North Carolina, Virginia, and Rhode Island have also set future deadlines in 2020, and additional states have legislation pending. Click here for an interactive map of the current state of EPCS mandates across the country.
Agility makes EPCS simple through a partnership with DrFirst’s EPCS GoldSM solution. With 90% of pharmacies nationwide readily accepting EPCS, providers in all states can take advantage of EPCS for paperless prescribing. In conjunction with state-run prescription monitoring tools, EPCS helps to safeguard responsible prescribing practices that can help fight the opioid epidemic. Additionally, providers who already e-prescribe can save time by using a single workflow for both controlled substances and legend drug prescriptions. To learn more, contact info@nethealth.com.
