As February winds to an end, we wanted to take note of Hospital-Acquired Conditions Month (HAC). The AHRQ defines HACs as a “condition that a patient develops in the hospital while being treated for something else.” About 5% to 10% of patients in the U.S. get an HAC at the cost of $20 billion.¹
