Learn about the newest pediatric functionality in ReDoc powered by xfit.
Dear ReDoc,
The pediatric patients we treat at our practice have very specialized needs—which means very specialized documentation requirements for those patients. What pediatric functionality is available in ReDoc powered by xfit?
The Solution
ReDoc powered by xfit can be set to automatically identify pediatric patients (based on their date of birth) and expand specific pediatric content for more efficient completion of documentation.
In our most recent ReDoc powered by xfit release, we enhanced some existing forms that you’re already familiar with and added some new tools to complete the pediatric documentation picture! Here’s a few of the key highlights, but read on to find out where to get the full list of updates to meet your documentation needs for pediatric populations.
Arrival / History and Patient Profile:
New detailed fields allow you to record pediatric related history, including:
- Pregnancy and delivery complications
- Developmental history and concerns
- Sensory integration issues
- Medical and treatment history
- Social history and activities
- Educational setting
- Academic supports
International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA):
A new IPA selection tool allows you to easily and quickly record phonetic substitutions and errors on the new Pediatric Articulation and Phonology form. You’ll also find this tool where you need it most: describing treatment activities, defining goals, and in specific free text boxes. We think you’ll find it fæbjuləs! (Pssst! If you are using Classic ReDoc, you really need to check how this function is improved in ReDoc powered by xfit!)
Pediatric Language and Feeding Forms:
In addition to Pediatric Articulation and Phonology, specific content is now included for both preschool and school age language: expressive and receptive vocabulary, pragmatic communication, pre-literacy skills, and verbal and written formulation. Our Infant/Pediatric Feeding form will be of interest to both SLPs and OTs, detailing status from enteral feeding to solid food intake.
Score reporting for Standardized Tests:
If you’ve ever struggled to quickly create a scoring template to report scores from a standardized test such as The Sensory Profile, this tool’s for you! Facility Admins can now preset score reporting templates with test name, description, target skills, subtests and score types for selection within a clinical document for all disciplines. Clinicians also have the ability to create these at the patient level for any test they use that may not be represented in this master list.
Barriers to Independence/Goals
Presenting a complete clinical picture of the patient’s level of function is the purpose of any clinical report. In addition to identifying deficits and problems, ReDoc powered by xfit now allows all disciplines to list the patients’ strengths and abilities, as well as factors that might influence their treatment outcome. You’ll also notice that our goal banks now include pediatric relevant goals for all therapies. Use this form by itself as a nice balanced summary for the patient and family to see where they are, where you hope to take them, and how their strengths will help them get there!

And the winner is…
Thanks for your input on our first quarter Product Satisfaction Survey (and in our current survey!).
Each quarter, we ask you to complete a brief survey sharing feedback on ReDoc. Those who complete the survey are entered into a drawing, in the first quarter, for a Fitbit Blaze and Aria Smartscale or a donation to a charitable organization of the winner’s choice. And the first quarter’s winner is Pamela M. Congratulations! Thanks for your thoughtful feedback. Please continue to give your feedback on our second quarter survey which will close May 23rd. We’ll announce the winner of the iPad Air 2 in our next Flash!
