Net Health Tissue Analytics Featured in Healthleaders’ Article on Wound Care Technology

“Healthcare organizations are using a digital health platform to help care teams monitor wounds in real time and reduce the chance of hospital-acquired pressure injuries,” reports an article in the October 7 issue of Healthleaders, one of the top news magazines in the industry.

Other key takeaways in the article noted that poor wound care can lead to serious clinical outcomes and that reporting tools in the EHR that include images help care teams keep close tabs on wounds and avoid HAPIs.

Providing further insights on the value of the technology was Roxanne Elling, RN, BA, BSN, CWOCN, a wound care specialist at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip Long Island, part of the Catholic Health system.  Roxanne provided insights into how wound care impacts her organization, the challenges it presents and how technology is helping to improve wound care. She singled out specifically how her organization was utilizing Tissue Analytics.

“Hospitalizations are always stressful,” said Roxanne. “In using Tissue Analytics technology, the care team has been able to demonstrate wound healing to family members while participating in the patient’s plan of care.  This allows open communication of challenges with the patients’ clinical status, in an ongoing effort to help everyone collaborate for better goals of care for each patient.”

Roxanne also highlighted how her organization has been better able to measure wound care success with Tissue Analytics.

“We believe that without the use of TA, the appropriate prevention and treatment interventions could be overlooked as well as the risk of potential financial penalties as a result of incorrect documentation.”
