May 2016
Dear WoundExpert,
I saw on the WoundExpert login page that we need to transition to a new user experience, but I am unsure what this means for me and my colleagues who use WoundExpert. Why make a change?
The Scenario
You are a long-time user of WoundExpert, and you know how to use it well. Your day-to-day is busy! You don’t have time to train on a new version of WoundExpert.
That said, you do need to know about newly added medications, test results, and patient communication – right now, these important data points are spread throughout the WoundExpert patient chart. You might also need quick, easy access to the patient’s home health phone and fax number. At the very least, you need to know what changed in WoundExpert with the latest monthly release!
The Solution
We collaborated with world-class designers to create a new, engaging and adaptive user experience (UX). The result: WoundExpert powered by xfit™. It’s the same powerful software and functionality but supports a more efficient workflow with crucial decision-making data at your fingertips. We conducted usability testing and beta testing with several current clients to make sure it’s a solution that’s the right fit for you. While change can be unfamiliar, we’re here to help you every step of the way. Read on to learn about some of the new key benefits we think you’ll love once you’re up and running with the xfit platform and how we’ll support you through the transition.
Patient Activity Feed
Within each patient chart is an activity feed – analogous to a Twitter feed – with the most recent medications, orders, test results, diagnoses, patient tasks, and patient communication logs. Whether documenting as a team or alone, you don’t need to hunt for the most recent information to help you make informed decisions.
Configurable Patient Dashboard
You will have immediate access to a configurable patient dashboard. It offers:
- Patient documentation widget – perfect for reviewing the most relevant documentation before seeing a patient, or as part of the post-encounter chart review
- Patient diagnosis widget – newly added to the patient dashboard is their problem list, so you have quick reference to co-morbidities
- Customization per user, so if insurance is most important to your role, place the insurance widget at the top!
Searchable ‘How-To’ Documentation and Easy Access to Release Notes
The new WoundExpert How-To documentation is searchable. And we are posting to the login page the highlights of each monthly release, so you can keep up on the improvements made to WoundExpert.
Behind the Scenes Optimization
It may not be immediately obvious, but there are changes behind the scenes too. We used the most current technology, which allows us to make future updates more quickly and ensure the best experience for our customers. We also have diagnostic tools to help identify which pages in the application may be experiencing performance issues and allow us to subsequently expedite the resolution. So, front-to-back we are continuously improving WoundExpert!
Call to Action
If you haven’t already, a system administrator from your client site must sign up for a transition date between now and July 15 using our online calendar.
183 clients have already made the switch! Based on our collective experience it is important to ensure clinical documentation workflows are set up, if not already, and computer shortcuts are updated. Our helpful website contains:

There is no cost, and we are here to help you. WoundExpert powered by xfit™ makes no changes to patient data or facility configuration, and test facilities can be transitioned ahead of time. Please contact WoundExpert Customer Support at feedback@nethealth.com if you have any questions.

Connections Corner
WoundExpert wants to save you time. One way we do this is through the Net Health Connections Program, which makes ordering supplies for clinical care fast, easy, and accurate by replacing paper order forms and fax machines with electronic connections to a facility’s preferred vendors.
Here are the latest, free updates to our Connections modules (please note: territory coverage varies by vendor/dealer):
- New Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) vendors
- Medela: Columbia Medical Equipment, Medical Modalities, Wound Pros, Youngs/Montgomery
- Rehab Technologies
- New Wound Product Supplier (WPS) vendor coming soon: Donohoe Medical
- New Compression vendor coming soon: MDS Medical Device Specialty Inc.
Don’t forget! The Santyl Dosing Calculator allows clinic users an easy way to prescribe Santyl Ointment in WoundExpert by auto-calculating the suggested number of total grams based on the wound area and the duration of treatment.
The Connections modules can be automatically enabled within WoundExpert. Please contact WoundExpert Customer Support at feedback@nethealth.com if you have any questions.
