Headquartered in Puyallup, Washington, United Wound Healing (UWH) is a group of passionate wound care professionals with a multi-disciplinary approach to team-centric patient treatment.
Working as a symbiotic unit with client partners, United Wound Healing’s specialized team directs patient wound care treatment plans at 70 long-term care communities, including skilled nursing and assisted living centers, in Washington. Their goal is to improve healing rates and reduce the need for patients to travel to other facilities for wound care.
In their own words, “Effective teamwork brings together diverse knowledge and skills and often results in faster decision making and improved wound healing and quality outcomes.”
I'm Ryan Dirks. I'm the owner and CEO of United Wound Healing. Our mission at United Wound Healing is to transform skilled nursing wound care. We do it through education and encouragement to our skilled nursing partners and staff. We provide hope and healing to patients with chronic wounds.
We were looking for a solution that was tried and true and tested in the marketplace already that physicians and other providers liked and stuck with and we found that that Net Health and WoundExpert had a product that not only had a good reputation and good solutions, but that they also had good customer care and training for us as well.
Since using WoundExpert, our biggest positive changes has been being able to standardize our documentation. Making sure that there's a key elements that are important not only for the quality of patient care but also the data that's needed to be collected for billing and coding so that we can standardize that among all of our providers and then we can go back and we can look and make sure that that quality of care is held throughout. Not only are we actually just taking care of a wound and focusing on a wound but we're actually taking care of the patients and caregivers the team but all that requires documentation all of that requires us each week to be able to record and write down the things that are important for us to remember the things that are important for state regulations and surveys the things are even important important for billing that type of documentation.
So WoundExpert, for us, has been an education tool, it's been a healing tool it's been a regulatory tool and all that together has provided us some big benefits in our organization.
