First Steps: Digital Marketing

So you realize the power of the internet and the effect that it has on new business, but you don’t know where to start. Perhaps you’ve already done research on what changes to make to boost your online presence, but the amount of time, effort, and knowledge that would go into what you’ve found seems overwhelming. Not to worry.

The following tips can be done easily, but can still set you apart from those who haven’t taken these steps.

Your Website

Of course we want to drive traffic to your website, but you want to make sure your driving it to an accurate website. Is the phone number listed up-to-date? Have you moved from the address on your site? We understand that you have patients to prioritize, and that’s why you’ve got to make sure all your information is easily accessible. How else will new clients reach out to you?

Your Listings

Just as we want to ensure that your website is current, you also want to check-in with popular search engines and review sites, such as Google and Yelp, to make sure that they are correct. If you haven’t already, make sure you are verified on Google My Business and Yelp, at the very least. Having these two boosts your “visibility”, or likelihood of showing up in a search, and this is really at the foundation of optimizing digital media: how can you get more people to see what you have to offer.

Your Social Media

We know posting and blogging are time consuming and at times seem downright futile. While the benefits of these really are worth the effort, let’s start with more manageable actions you can take. While there are many social media outlets to utilize, if you’re not planning on posting regularly, at the very least have a Facebook page. It provides a place besides your website and online listings with your information. Be sure that the pictures you post aren’t blurry and clearly represent your business, whether that be your logo or a picture of your staff. Even a page with minimal posting but also with crisp photography and clear branding can appear professional and trustworthy.
