The Power of Communities

By Corazon Ortmann, Net Health Wound Care Client Management

Net Health’s Communities Help Our Clients and Our Development

Like many of us, I had my first teenage job working at a little bakery in rural Wisconsin, working directly with people. Fast-forward a few years, and I’m working directly with clients and products at Net Health.

One thing that I’ve seen and learned, no matter what industry you are in, is that people want to be heard and share their ideas. Sharing ideas and feelings is easier for some than others, but when someone knows that their ideas will be heard and considered, it feels encouraging and creates a more straightforward pathway.

Before joining Net Health’s Client Success team in the Wound Care Business Unit, I worked as a System Administrator for Wound Expert and Tissue Analytics at a wound care company specializing in at-home care. A big part of my role was listening to what our internal teams needed to perform their jobs thoroughly and efficiently. The ideas the clinical team had were always a huge priority for me.

Having experienced the client side and now being a part of the Client Succes team at Net Health, my experience has given me unique insights into how clients share their ideas and how those ideas are processed by our internal teams.

At Net Health, we want to hear our clients’ ideas. We have developed a platform called “Communities,” where you can submit your suggestions and enhancement requests. This platform not only allows our team to view your recommendations but also gives you the chance to see what your peers think and contribute their ideas, creating a unique way to see what others in your industry are thinking.

When I was a client and a Net Health team member encouraged me to submit an enhancement, I felt uncertain about how it would be prioritized, whether it would be discussed internally, or if it would truly be heard.

How Do Communities Work?

Now, from this side of the process, I can observe how ideas are handled internally at Net Health, and that, in fact, they are heard, prioritized and discussed. Here’s how the progression works:

  1. New: All new submissions start here, awaiting votes.
  2. In Review: Your idea has received votes from peers, and Net Health is considering it for further action.
  3. Planned: Your idea has been selected for development, and we are planning how and when to implement it.
  4. In Process: Your idea is actively being developed for release.
  5. Delivered: Your idea is officially incorporated into Net Health’s product.
  6. Closed: This status is applied if we are unable to implement your idea.

A submission that would be closed and not moved forward for planned enhancement might be when the technology is not feasible or the submission falls outside the scope of our software’s market. Submissions that may progress to the planned stage have several different factors. For instance, a request could represent a smaller component that could be integrated into a larger product already on the roadmap. Essentially, we can sort community ideas by grouping similar concepts together.

Although not every idea can be implemented, I appreciate that this company values creating a platform where clients can share their thoughts and suggest improvements for themselves and others. It truly takes a community to drive changes.
